For use with CD, SACD, DVD and DVD-A players and transports, and also for use with most quality loudspeakers and other consumer electronics items likely to be affected by vibration (ie valve amps).

Sonic Design Damping Feet can be used under any hi-fi or home cinema product to help reduce (and in most cases) eliminate structural vibrations either entering (or leaving) the product.

This can help the opto-mechanism inside CD/SACD/DVD players to better focus on the silver platter, thereby helping with improved sonics and pictures (as there is chance the data will be corrupted by any chassis vibration). The error correction circuitry then has less to do and hence the D-A convertor is better able to deal with the data presented to it.

Likewise, you can help many valve products, by reducing the chance of vibration affecting the performance.

In the case of loudspeakers, improvements in sound quality can be achieved by reducing the amount of structural resonance induced into either shelving or wooden floorboards.

All Sonic Design Damping Feet are weight sensitive and hence you need to weigh the particular item you wish to use them with and select the correct load bearing Feet to suit the item in question.

To order the Audiophile Feet, you need to know the exact weight of your loudspeakers, and most importantly, how the ratio of the load is spread (front to back).

Once we know how the load is distributed, we can supply specific Audiophile Feet that are matched to your particular loudspeaker model. Hence you will then be able to specify the exact Damping Feet to suit your speakers.

For instance, most speakers have all the drive units mounted on the front baffle and hence the front of the speaker will be heavier than the rear.

So, each pack supplied has a quoted weight range which is defined as the maximum operating weight loading for each Audiophile Foot.

(Note: two packs of feet are normally required - one set for the two 'Front' halves and one set for the two 'Rear' halves of each speaker cabinet).
